The
18-holes par 72, 6201 metre championship and track
free buggy golf course was designed and built by
Instangreen Corp. Bhd. Land clearing began in November
1993 on the former palm oil and rubber estate land
and the full course was completed in September 1996
together with the opening of the Golf Clubhouse.
The course was officially opened on 6 OCTOBER 1996
by the Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan. YAB Dato'
Seri Tan Sri Hj Mohd Isa Bin Dato' Abd Samad. On
4 June 1998, Palm Springs became the first private
golf club in the country to be honoured and conferred
with the royal title by DYMM Tunku Naquiyuddin Ibni
Tuanku Ja'afar, Pemangku Yang DiPertuan Besar Negeri
Sembilan Darul Khusus.
Greens
and aprons are turfed with Tifdwarf Bermuda while
the fairway, tees and roughs are covered with Green
Lee's Park 419 and all were grown by stolon technique.
The
holes undulate gently and flanked across seven ponds
which are natural watering holes with abundant fishes
and supplying free fresh water for course irrigation.
The
longest hole on the layout is the 504-metre 10th
(Index 12), a demanding par 5 which calls for a
good placement for a second shot to cross over the
monsoon drain 20 m. from the green and avoiding
the bunker and lake to the right.
The
142-metre 13th (Index 8) is the shortest Par3 hole
on the course but the most challenging with its
green area confined within a cresent shaped lake.

A
monsoon drain hazard runs between fairway 12 &
13 and cuts through fairway 10, 11 & 17 which
beckons for control of shots and caution when crossing
over the box culvert bridges with the buggy or turfmate.
Starter
Huts at Tee Box 1 and 10, Rain Shelters at Green
7 & 13, Halfway Houses at Tee Box 6 & 15
are also built for the shelter and convenience of
golfers.
Golf
course, ponds and landscaping maintenance are being
undertaken on contract with Ariajaya Enterprise
Sdn Bhd since opening day.
The
maintenance workshop is located at the far end of
the drivingrange and behind the 12th Tee box. The
driving range which is 250 m. long and 70 m. wide
with a bunker and a practice green provides an ideal
training area for beginners.
