Procedures For Obtaining A Golf Course Permit |
| |
The possession of a Course Permit or Handicap is a prerequisite
for anyone to play at Royal Palm Springs Golf Club to
ensure that the golfer has an understanding and knowledge
of golf skills, etiquette and rules in order to appreciate
and enjoy the game with confidence, care and consideration
for s~ towards self and others in the course.
1. Orientation
Attend a 2-hour golf orientation session conducted by
Royal Palm Springs Golf Club usually held on every third
Saturday of the month (see Golf Calendar 2000). Minimum
number of participants is 4. Registration and payment
of fee must be made in advance.

Practical Test For Course Permit
Undertake
practical tests which will be conducted by appointment
only. Must be able to demonstrate successfully the following
skills with correct technique at a maximum of 3 trials

from 3m into a Hole with 2 strokes |

A Course Permit card (valid for 1 year only) will
be issued to successful candidates of above tests.
Play may be restricted during peak times (Saturday
afternoon and Sunday morning).  |

| B.
Procedures For Obtaining A Handicap |

Pre-requisites:

Attend
one of the monthly golf orientation sessions
(see Golf Calendar 2000) |

Possess
a Golf Course Permit card obtained from Royal
Palm Springs Golf Club |
|
1.3
|
Submit
at least 10 score cards of 9-hole games or 5 score
cards of 18-hole games played at Royal Palm Springs
Golf Club or other clubs including at least one
Monthly Medal tournament. |

1.4
|
Apply
for a handicap test as soon as the average gross
score derived from submitted cards arrives at
lower than 100 for men or 110 for ladies. |

Test
: Undergo a theory and test play over 9 holes
by appointment only.
Fee : RM 50.00 (Member)
RM 70.00 (Non-Member or Golf Card Holder)
Equipment : Supply
your own golf and balls.
Dress Code :
Golf
attire and shoes.
Handicap
Card and Maintenance
A
RPSGC Handicap card (valid for 1 year only) will be
issued to successful candidates and record of scores
maintained in the RPSGC computer. A service charge of
RM 10.00 will be levied for updating and renewal of
Handicap card.

| C.
Procedures For Transfer Of Handicap To Royal Palm Springs |
|
The
following are to be completed in sequence :
|
1.

Be
in possession of a valid Handicap card from other
Clubs
|
|
2.
|
Submit
a current computerised handicap score summary
report
Or
Submit a minimum of 5 score cards on games played
within a year at RPSGC or other Clubs
Or
Participate in at least two Monthly Medal tournaments
at RPSGC
|

3.
|
Attend
one of the monthly orientation/seminar program
held usually on the third Saturday morning of
the month (see Golf
Calendar 2004)
