  The Royal Difference
 
June 4, 1998 marked another significant milestone in the history of Palm Springs Golf Club. It was on this day that Palm Springs Golf Club was best owed the royal title by DYMM Tunku Naquiyuddin Ibni Tuanku Ja'afar, Pemangku Yang DiPertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus for its contributions in social, sports and economic development of Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus.

"Syabas" to Royal Palm Springs Golf Club for being the first private golf club in Malaysia to be bestowed the royal title.

Tanco's Contributions to Charity

Palm Springs Golf Club together with Perkapalan Balisa Sdn Bhd jointly organised a charity golf tournament in aid of the North Korean Relief Fund on 27 September 1997.

Named the Sail Charity Golf Tournament, this event which was held at Palm Springs Golf Club managed to raise a total of RM50,000 for the starving North Koreans.

In the cheque presentation ceremony, Encik Aznan Bin Abdul Aziz, Vice-Chairman of Tanco Holdings Bhd handed over a mock cheque of RM50,000 to Ms. Peggy Frois, the representative of Malaysian Red Crescent Society. Also present was Ms. Elizabeth Wong, Managing Director of Perkapalan Baiisa Sdn Bhd. The overall winner of the tournament was Ms. Alice Wong (handicap 33) who scored 47 stableford points.

Palm Springs Resort Sdn Bhd wishes to thank all the 80 participants and well-wishers for their generous contributions which has gone a long way in making this event successful and memorable.
